Inspiring women to create their new horizons through education and research

Ehara taku toa i te toa takitahi, engari he toa takitini

Success is not mine alone, but it is the work of many

Recently, we held the New Horizons for Women Trust: Hine Kahukura AGM in Wellington. We shared our successes in 2023 along with our plans for 2024.

At the AGM, we farewelled Gail Campbell, who has been our chair for the past three years (and a trustee for six years). During her time as chair, Gail's strong leadership and unwavering commitment has led to growth of the trust along with improvements to the service we provide. This has resulted in strong foundations that we will continue to build on. Gail leaves New Horizons for Women: Hine Kahukura in a great position for the future. The diversity and experience of current trustees will enable the trust to take the next steps to improve on the platform we already have.

We extend heartfelt thanks to Gail for her compassionate leadership.

Te Tiriti o Waitangi Training Day

Recently, The Board attended Dr Kathie Irwin's workshop on Waitangi Treaty Based Organisational Training.

Kathie's workshop is designed to deepen our understanding of the Te Tiriti and its impact on organisational practices. Through engaging discussions, hands-on activities, and case studies, the workshop equipped us with practical tools and strategies for implementing Te Tiriti principles within our Trust. Kathie's expertise in Māori studies and her extensive experience in Treaty-based education make this workshop a valuable learning experience.

We are determined to use the knowledge gained to align our values with our actions, creating positive and lasting change within our Trust and beyond. Thank you for being a part of this journey with us. Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to embrace opportunities for growth and learning.
