Inspiring women to create their new horizons through education and research

Whāia e koe te iti kahurangi ki te tūohu koe, me he maunga teitei

Pursue excellence – should you stumble, let it be to a lofty mountain

Wow where has the year gone! Since our last newsletter we have been exceedingly busy with our 2023 awards round. We had a record number of applications. Competition for awards was particularly strong this year, with many applications being of an exceptionally high standard. We congratulate successful applicants and look forward to celebrating with them at our awards ceremonies in the New Year. To those who weren’t successful don’t forget that if you are continuing your studies in 2025 you can apply again next year.

Last weekend we held our second hui for 2023 in Sth Auckland. It was great to meet our newest trustees, Margot, Marie and Karen in person and to get to know each other a little more. It is amazing the amount of work that can be achieved when everyone is together in the same room. We all went home tired but very happy with what we achieved and highly motivated to ensure 2024 is a another successful one for the trust.

New Horisons for Women: Hine Kahukura Trust Hui

Our trustees and staff spent a weekend together planning for the New Horizons for Women: Hine Kahukura future. We are truely fortunate to have a committed, compassionate and capable team of women guiding the mahi of our trust.

As well as the serious stuff, we shared friendship laughter and great food. We'd like to share our opening karakia with you.
